| Strategic Planing | Managing OHS Claims This workshop will explore the factors relating to the management of workplace injuries and its interrelation to workplace safety. Through my experience in managing workplace injuries, the cost of Valmar’s claims experience has decreased by almost 66% over a four year period. Much of this reduction is attributed to an active involvement in getting injured workers back to work ASAP through liaison with the workplace, insurers, the injured worker, doctors and allied health professionals. Speaker: Linda Walsh is the Human Resources Manager (HRM) for Valmar Support Services Ltd, a disability support organisation with 190 employees located in the Snowy Mountains of NSW. Valmar provides support in an industrial and open employment environment, with a range of disability services including respite, accommodation, employment and day programs. Linda holds an Associate Degree in Business, Graduate Certificate in HRM, has completed both the NSW WorkCover accredited Introduction to Return to Work (RTW) Coordination, and Advanced level training, and has a nursing background.
