Social Auditing & Accounting

Presented by The Miller Group, this workshop will introduce the principles & processes that assist organisations to ‘prove and improve’, with the use of a social accounting and auditing model that they believe has many advantages over traditional approaches to capacity building, evaluation, accountability and sustainability.

Community organisations face many challenges in attempting to achieve their mission and adhere to their values in a rapidly changing environment. The Social Auditing & Accounting Framework enables an organization to move from a begging to a building culture.

The Miller Group believes that any organisation working in the community sector - like any other organisation in business or government - ought to be able to measure and improve its performance, and demonstrate the impact of its work –not just to funding bodies – to all stakeholders

Speaker:

Libby (Elizabeth) Darlison is a Director of the Miller Group-Social Policy and Management Consultants.

Libby has been a consultant for over 20 years. Prior to that she taught social and health science in the tertiary sector and has also been Deputy CEO of a Commonwealth Authority.

As a consultant Libby has worked extensively with a broad range of community organisations across Australia . She has also been engaged by WHO and by UNESCO and has led social development projects in Africa and in Oceania . She has a strong commitment to the building of sustainable and healthy communities and believes one of the most important strategies for achieving this goal is to assist the non government community sector to make effective decisions, and deliver quality services that meet the needs of their stakeholders.
